We work with sole proprietors and small LLCs across a variety of industries, with specialized experience in equine and pet-related businesses. Not in the animal industry? No problem—we’d still love to hear about your business and what you need.
Yes. You do not need to clean up your books before asking for help—that is the purpose of bookkeeping cleanup. I can trace missing or miscategorized transactions, reconcile accounts, organize supporting records, and investigate discrepancies to determine why the numbers are not making sense. I also look for recurring breakdowns in the underlying process and help create a more sustainable system, so the same problems are less likely to return.
Both. Correcting transactions is only part of effective cleanup. I also examine how financial information moves through your business, identify recurring problems and inefficient processes, and help create practical workflows that are easier to maintain. The goal is not simply to repair the books once—it is to reduce the likelihood of the same problems returning.
Every cleanup is different, so pricing depends on the amount and condition of the work involved. I consider factors such as how many months need attention, transaction volume, the number of bank and credit-card accounts, whether accounts have been reconciled, and how much investigation is required. I assess the records first, then provide a clear scope and price before beginning the cleanup.
Yes. We offer ongoing bookkeeping support to help keep your records accurate, organized, and up to date. Services can be tailored to the needs and size of your business.
Remote bookkeeping allows me to work with your financial records without needing to be physically present at your business. Depending on your setup, records can be shared through QuickBooks Online or secure digital document-sharing methods. We will establish a clear process for providing statements, receipts, and other information, with communication available by email or scheduled virtual meetings. The workflow is designed around what is both practical and sustainable for your business.
Yes. Clearly Accountable Bookkeeping is insured through biBERK, a Berkshire Hathaway company, including professional liability coverage.
QuickBooks Online is preferred and is generally the most cost-effective option for ongoing bookkeeping. However, I can also work with Excel, Google Sheets, or other accounting software when appropriate for your business.
Yes. I can help keep your records organized and prepare your books for year-end review, then coordinate with your CPA or tax preparer when bookkeeping questions arise. I do not provide tax or legal advice, but I can help make sure your financial records are clear, complete, and easier for your tax professional to work with.
No. Clearly Accountable Bookkeeping does not currently process payroll or prepare income-tax returns. I focus on bookkeeping, reconciliation, cleanup, and maintaining organized financial records that can be provided to your CPA or tax professional. When needed, I can communicate with your tax professional to help resolve bookkeeping questions and prepare your records for year-end review.
Yes. An initial consultation fee is required before we evaluate your bookkeeping needs and recommend the appropriate next steps. If you decide to engage Clearly Accountable Bookkeeping, the full consultation fee will be applied toward the cost of your services. If you choose not to move forward, the fee covers the professional time and guidance provided during the consultation.
The initial consultation is $100 for up to 60 minutes and is paid in advance. During the consultation, we’ll discuss your business, review your bookkeeping concerns, and identify the most appropriate next steps.
The fee is nonrefundable once the consultation takes place. If you engage Clearly Accountable Bookkeeping within 30 days, the full $100 will be credited toward your services.
Consultation fees are paid securely in advance through an electronic invoice.
